Avenir is a Melbourne based property development and investment company founded by Steve Buxton. With newly inspired perspective and a wealth of experience, Avenir plans to continue to add high quality development product to the Melbourne real estate landscape.
Excited by the future of property it seemed appropriate that Steve’s latest venture capture the very essence of its purpose. Meaning ‘future’ in French, Avenir is a true reflection of the desire to create better homes and work environments across Melbourne.

Steve Buxton
Managing Director
Steve has a family history dating back to the early 1800’s in property development and real estate. Related family businesses include Buxton Real Estate (established 1861) and MAB Corporation. Personally Steve has been around Real Estate all his life and has been developing his own development projects since 2,000. Prior to this Steve worked in Real Estate and development, incorporating land subdivision, established homes, industrial, retail and commercial in addition to medium and high density new residential. As a developer, Steve has overseen over $1.5 billion directly in his own and/or in joint venture with others through the following development entities: Red.C Pty Ltd, Buxton Development Projects Pty Ltd and Hamton Pty Ltd.
A significant number of projects Steve has overseen have been positively appraised by industry peers (including receipt of industry based awards) and have resulted in widespread industry duplication particularly in relation to product design, marketing and sales techniques.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and a Post Graduate in Property. He has guest lectured at both RMIT and Melbourne University’s Property courses.
