Steve Buxton
Managing Director
Steve has a family history dating back to the early 1800’s in property development and real estate. Related family businesses include Buxton Real Estate (established 1861) and MAB Corporation. Personally Steve has been around Real Estate all his life and has been developing his own development projects since 1998. Prior to this Steve worked in Real Estate and development, incorporating land subdivision, established homes, industrial, retail and commercial in addition to medium and high density new residential. As a developer, Steve has overseen over $1.5 billion directly in his own and/or in joint venture with others through the following development entities: Red.C Pty Ltd (2000), Buxton Development Projects Pty Ltd (2004) and Hamton Pty Ltd. (2006)
A significant number of projects Steve has overseen have been positively appraised by industry peers (including receipt of industry based awards) and have resulted in widespread industry duplication particularly in relation to product design, marketing and sales techniques.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and a Post Graduate in Property. He has guest lectured at both RMIT and Melbourne University’s Property courses.
James Copes
Chief Financial Officer
James is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business Degree and Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Services. James is responsible for Avenir Group’s finance and operational functions.
James previously held the role of CFO at Hamton Property Group for 6 years overseeing the finance and operational functions of a business that developed property in excess of $1bn. He also led the finance and operational functions of associated businesses including but not limited to property management, sales, owners corporation management and launderette. Prior to joining the Property Industry, James had 10 years experience in the accounting profession.
Ben Buxton
Strategist - Brand and Marketing
Ben Buxton is the founder of Grenade and its ongoing managing director. Heir to five generations of Australian property expertise, Ben has real estate and the art of development imprinted on his DNA.
Ben has perfected the art of marketing and honed his selling skills in a broad 21 year career. A key part of his success is his careful selection of projects.
Aleece Siliga
Accounts
Aleece joined Avenir in 2017 and has over 12 years experience in accounts and administration providing timely and accurate management reporting. Aleece brings with her a very caring attitude and a responsiveness that ensures the team and clients are always her priority.
Aleece services Avenir in the areas of small business management, taxation, accounts and financial reporting.
