Steve Buxton
Managing Director
Steve has a family history in property development and real estate dating back to the early 1800s. Related family businesses include Buxton Real Estate (established in 1861) and MAB Corporation. Personally, Steve has been immersed in real estate his entire life and has been undertaking his own development projects since 1998.
Prior to this, Steve worked across various areas of real estate and development, including land subdivision, established residential homes, industrial, retail, and commercial properties, as well as medium- and high-density residential developments.
As a developer, Steve has directly overseen projects valued at more than $1.5 billion—both independently and in joint ventures—through the following development entities: Red.C Pty Ltd (established 2000), Buxton Development Projects Pty Ltd (2004), Hamton Pty Ltd (2006) and now, B&B Property Group (2024).
Many of the projects Steve has led have been positively recognised by industry peers, receiving a number of industry awards and contributing to widespread replication of his product design, marketing strategies, and sales techniques.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and a Postgraduate qualification in Property.
James Copes
Chief Financial Officer
James is a Chartered Accountant with a Bachelor of Business degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Services. He is responsible for overseeing the finance and operational functions of Avenir Group.
Prior to joining Avenir, James served as Chief Financial Officer at Hamton Property Group for six years, where he managed the finance and operations of property developments valued at over $1 billion. He also led the financial and operational functions of several associated businesses, including (but not limited to) property management, sales, owners corporation management, and a launderette.
Before entering the property industry, James spent ten years in the accounting profession, gaining extensive experience across a range of financial disciplines.
Aleece Siliga
Accounts
Aleece joined Avenir in 2017 and brings over 12 years’ experience in accounts and administration, delivering timely and accurate management reporting. She is known for her caring approach and responsiveness, always prioritising the needs of both the team and clients.
At Avenir, Aleece provides support across small business management, taxation, accounts, and financial reporting.
Kate Elizabeth
Executive Assistant
Kate brings over 15 years extensive experience in corporate and personal administration across a diverse range of industries including defence, insurance, medical and not-for-profits. She provides Executive Administration support to Steve Buxton as well as the wider Avenir team.
